These are the pictures from the Easter Celebration activity the Young Women and Young Men put on for the primary. It turned out awesome-- the scencery was the best. My second counsellor heard a ward in Porterville had done pretty much the same thing we were doing so she asked if we could borrow some of their scencery and it made things look really authentic. This is the Last Supper room and Lynnaea is answering a question.
This is Station 4 when the kids went on an Easter Egg Hunt.
Station 4 with the Easter Bunny on the Easter Egg hunt.
More of the Easter Bunny.
Sation 3 - "Jesus gives us New Life"- they talked about what resurrection means and who is resurrected and things like that and then the kids were able to decorate a flower pot with resurrection stickers and plant a flower.
The flower pots.
Station 2 - Triumphal Entry/Palm Sunday. The kids listened to a little lesson about the Triumphal Entry and then they made palm leaves with Hosanna on it to take home.
Making Palm Leaves.
Station 1 was seven rooms that the kids went through that depicted some of the events of the Last Week of Jesus's life. This was the Last Supper room - the priest talked about what the Last Supper meant and why we still take the sacrament today. The YW talked about Jesus washing the apostles feet and that we should serve others too.
The Last SUpper room.
The Garden of Gethsemane room. They talked about the atonement in this room. Notice my Carl Bloch picture from when we went to the exhibit.
The Betrayal room. Talking about Judas betraying Jesus.
The trial room - they showed a clip from Lamb of God in this room - the kids are watcing it.
The trial room.
The crucifixion room. The YM is reading about Jesus being put on the cross.
The crucifixion room - the cross was railroad ties adn they had big stakes in them to show the kids.
The tomb room. We did put white linens on the cot - I took a picture before we got them on.
The angel coming from behind the tomb telling the kids He is Risen!
The Resurrection room - the kids got to color a fuzzy poster that says "He Lives" on it. This was my room - I decorated how Kami said - only it would have been better is she had been there I am sure.
The Resurrection room.
It turned out pretty good- I was happy anyway. We did not have a great number of youth - lots of conflicts but the primary told us to plan on 40-45 primary kids so we did 48 of everything and had 46 kids. So, that was good.
